Our Second Anniversary Part One

We like to spread out the anniversary fun around here and since March 27th this year was filled with lots of work obligations we are officially celebrating this weekend in Newport Beach. For a little pre-anniversary trip fun here are some gorgeous pictures taken by Hannah G. Photography. These are my favorites.

As for our actually anniversary it was filled with early morning work for us both but I did have a chance to sneak into Aaron's office with lots of balloons, donuts, and this sign for a little surprise for him and his co-workers.
I was treated to a little pedicure

and did a little shopping
We ended the evening with a romantic dinner at Pismo's. It was so delicious!
Now we are counting down the hours until we are down south. Any of you So Cal girls want to hang out let me know : )

Glimpses of chevron

I wanted to share some pictures with you as our house begins to look like summer is approaching with sunshine yellow and ocean blue. Also I mentioned before that the chevron pattern has leaked its way into almost every corner of our house. Pretty soon every counter and piece of furniture may be marked with this adorable zig-zag pattern. I've even began to add it to my wardrobe! Oh dear! Here are a few details of our home...

This weekend I crafted a little and made this adorable wreath that was already matching the inside of our house so I needed to make the door pop a little too, tutorial found here. This wreath is made of gumballs!

I know you've seen the chevron in our guest room found here
I hope these fun colors brightened your day a little : )

Kiss the Rain

I may or may not have acted like Mary Poppins while waiting for my sister to come over so we could head to dinner in the Tower District on Friday night. It started to sprinkle as the sun went down, then the real downpour began! We had some tacos and margaritas at Bobby Salazars to kick off Saint Patricks' Day weekend. We ended the evening at Frosted Cakery with a gold treat. It was a fabulous Friday out with my handsome husband and sweet sister.

How do people make it through life without a sister?

Last weekend my sister, Aaron, and I went to the $3 theater to see I Bought a Zoo. It was adorable. I cried through the majority of it. It was so touching. But I was reminded that night how much I like my sister. With her I can act like a fool in the Dollar Store picking out candy before a movie. With her I can trip over a display in a department store and she'll follow along behind me setting it back up meanwhile making fun of me. With her I can eat way too much dessert and not feel so guilty about it. With her I can laugh at our inside jokes until our sides hurt. With her I can trust any secret.  I'm so lucky to have a best friend as my sister. I don't know how others make it through life without a sissy like mine.

Shout out to you Melaney who claims to "not like blogs" but I know you secretly love reading mine! Here's to wonderful Sister's!

Girl filled weekend

This weekend was full of girl fun and I loved every minute of it. On Saturday I celebrated with my dear friend Annie who is having a baby girl in May. Annie has such a cute tiny bump you may not even be able to see it in the pictures : ) We had a delicious lunch at Piazza Del Pane showering her with beautiful gifts for Giada. I am so excited for Giada's arrival, I know she will be loved so dearly. After the shower Christina, Nina, Sophie and I went for an afternoon appetizer and more chatting. On Sunday I was extremely spoiled to catch up with my best friend Kaira who was in town from San Diego. Growing up we spent everyday together so it was so nice to enjoy lunch chatting like the old days.  I love my girlfriends. I'm one lucky girl.

On Sunday night we celebrated this handsome man turning six. Boy do we love him!
